I got an e-mail from a friend in Seattle WA today. He was in Starbucks - and this came on and yeah, anyways - pretty awesome. Starbucks loves Andy. So do we.

How I spent my holidays.

Well, its been awhile. The holidays came and went. I had a great time. My parents are in town - and thats a treat. They are missionaries in Papua New Guinea - where I grew up, and they spend most of their time over there. They decided to come spend the holidays with Candy and I. What a treat. We have done alot in the short time they have been here.

1. Went to the Original Chick Fil A restaurant.

2. Meet lots of relatives in the area I didn’t know I had.

3. Went to Chickamuaga, where there was a huge battle during the civil war.

4. Discovered my new favorite breakfast spot in of places, Dahlonega, Ga. Its called the Crimson Moon Cafe.

5. Discovered downton Dahlonega.

6. Went to the Biltmore Mansion and went through the house with all the Christmas Decorations.

7. Went to Waxhaw, NC to drop of the parents and saw some old friends I havent seen in like 19 years or something crazy like that.

8. Got super sick

9. Went to Amicalola Falls - or however its spelled.

10. Went to the Buford Dam

11. Took parents on tour of the city. Got free Hot white Chocolate from Matt D.

12. Celebrated my wifes birthday at Queen of Sheba - Ethiopian Food!

13. Spent Christmas with numurous family and friends.

14. Falcons made the playoffs, and then were out of the playoffs.

15. recorded a podcast for P is for Panda like 50 times. It crashed and all hell broke loose.

16. Acquired a crib and other assortment of baby furniture for our new baby. (we are adopting from Ethiopia if you didn’t know.)

17. Newly redesigned panda site. Now you can see the whole post!! woot woot!!!

18. Read a few books and watched more Battlestar and some good movies and some not so good movies.

I’m sure I am missing some, but you can see its been a huge fun filled couple of weeks. What did you guys do?

The new Panda office

My parents have come to stay with my wife and I for a few weeks. This is a rare treat from us, as my parents are missionaries in Papua New Guinea (also where I grew up) and spend most of their time over there. When they do come back to the states, they go where the grandkids are, which is close to my sister since Candy and I don’t have kids yet. Anyways, the panda office used to be in the guest bedroom, which I would have to share when bands and friends came into town and stayed with us. We decided to move my office in the little nook of our townhome and I think, even though its a much smaller space, that I love it. So here is a photo of the new panda office. What you think??

Roy Fleeman just sent me to a link to a Paste article about Emmanuel Jal. As you know, Emmanuel Jal put out my favorite record of this year. The link is more about Emmanuel Jals story and the documentary about a part of his life called “War Child” Thats also the title of his record and his book that comes out in Feb next year. The Best of 2008.

Since I already have been asked for my “Best Albums of 2008″ already - I might as well list my best of list here. Problem with this year, is that I have been listening to a lot of older albums this year. But this is my list of the best ten records this year. Agree or Disagree? List your below!!

But before I give you my list…….I must say, that if it counted, my favorite albums of the year has to go to Porter Wagoner “Wagonmaster”. Even though it was released last year, I have such great memories of that record. Listening to it with Candy’s (that’s my wife for those of you not in the know….) grandpa, Clifford, was one of the highlights of my year. We used to sneak out the house to make Publix runs and Cliff would ask me to put that record on and we would just listen. It was just like we were listening to him tell these stories and sing. Porter Wagoner “Wagonmaster” released 2007 by Anti. So it doesn’t count, but that’s the record that I listened to the most.
